Golden temple , India

The Harmandir Sahib, also Darbar Sahiband informally called to as the “Golden Temple”,is the holiest Sikh gurdwara situated in the city of Amristar, Punjab, India. The city was established in 1574 by the fourth Sikh guru, Guru Ram Das.The Harmandir Sahib was designed by the 5th guru, Guru Arjan, who had the cornerstone laid by the Muslim Sufi saint Sai Hazrat Milan Mir on 28 Dec 1588. Guru Arjan completed the Adi Granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism, in 1604 and installed it in the gurdwara.

Lumbini , Nepal

Lumbinī is a Buddhist pilgrimage place in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. It is the site where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BCE. Gautama, who achieved Enlightenment some time around 528 BCE,became the Gautama Buddha and founded Buddhism. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in sites pivotal to the life of Gautama Buddha; other notable pilgrimage places include Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya and Saranath.

Adam’s peak , Sri lanka

Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada) is a 2,243 meter (7,359 ft) tall conical mountain situated in central Sri Lanka. It is well known for the Sri Pada, i.e., “sacred footprint”, a 1.8 meter (5 ft 11 in) rock formation near the summit, which in Buddhist tradition is held to be the footprint of the Buddha, in islamic and Christian tradition that of Adam, or that of St. Thomas and in Hindu tradition that of Shiva.

Our Lady of Guadalupe ,Mexico

The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Roman Catholic church, basilica and National shrine of Mexico in the north of Mexico City. The shrine was built close to the hill of Tepeyac where Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. This place is also known as La Villa de Guadalupe or, in a more popular sense, simply La Villa, as it has many churches and related buildings.

The new Basilica houses the original tilma (or cloak) of Juan Diego, which holds the picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe. One of the most important pilgrimage place of Catholicism, the basilica is visited by many million people every year, especially around 12 December, Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Feast day.
